Studio 57 is a family business owned & run by father and son, Richard and Dan Harwood-Stamper.

Having served his time apprenticed to top London casting portrait photographers, Dan spent much of his time at other studios photographing fashion, musicians and taking corporate photographs for press releases & advertising.

The decision to move to Hemel Hempstead in 2007 was made by Dan and Richard as they identified a need for a top quality family photographer in the area who could produce beautiful photographs at realistic prices. Dan regularly still shoots actors and theatre production shots, of course, - in fact, they continue to work for the famous faces of British film, TV and stage on an almost daily basis – but here in Hemel Hempstead, he is also able to take more family based shots. Being a dad to three himself, Dan has a natural ease which, when allied to his experience, enables him to relax his subjects and produce natural and stunning photographs, particularly of children.

When you come for your shoot, your session will last for approximately one hour – which gives plenty of time to get clients relaxed, enabling us to get a variety of great shots, and for you to change outfits if required. After your shoot, the images will be edited and retouched before you are invited back to the studio to view your shots, usually one week after the shoot – however, they do not do a hard sell at your viewing, and you’re not obliged to buy anything.

Studio 57 is conveniently situated in the picturesque Hemel Hempstead Old Town high street, with ample local parking making it easy for families to attend a shoot. The session is great fun and is conducted in a relaxed informal environment which all helps to produce the desired result.

Studio 57 is so confident you will like your pictures that they don’t even charge for the shoot! All they ask is for a (fully refundable) booking fee to secure the shoot and this is deducted from the cost of any pictures you may purchase.

In other words you can’t lose - all it needs to cost you is an hour of your time to enjoy the Studio 57 experience, and get some images to last a lifetime!
